Electra, Day 1
We named the house Electra. How cool of a name is that!??
The house was owned by Earl Fehl and his wife Electra. We debated on whether we wanted to name it after her as she was as bad of a person as her husband, but that name is just way too cool. We expected Earl’s wife’s name to be Gertrude or Myrtle or Mildred. It wasn’t. It was Electra. Coolest name ever. So our new home just had to be Electra.
We will get waaaaaay down into the history of the house because it.is.fascinating. At the moment though, we wanted to share photos from Day 1, shot around 7a on December 23, about 8 hours after we got the keys. The rush to get professional photos (and a few phone photos…in my rush, I missed a couple of spaces!) done of the house was to document some key Before elements - that morning the carpet-ripper-outer people were arriving around 8:30a so we had a super short window to get the shots!
Enjoy.
Some commentary:
The foyer definitely looks like a bordello.
The floors, while shiny and photograph well, are just laminate. There has got to be hardwood under there!
The dining room’s wallpaper is grapes. Of course it is. #cantescapeNapa
We had to pull all the curtains right away too because of the smoke smell.
Grapes grapes everywhere.
The stairs. The best thing ever. Carol Baskin Death Stairs to be exact.
