Stairs & Office
We’ve been working on a lot of projects and most have been documented much better on Instagram! There has also been a lot of behind the scenes projects going on that are impossible to document, but this is not one of them. THE STAIRS! The office floors! It's stair & office floor week!!!! J’s office floor is the same wood from what we can tell, but painted. And what color did they choose? Fleshy beigey terrible-ness is what.
Now you remember our Carol Baskin Death Stairs, right? Let me refresh your memory:
J’s office floor:
They're still Death Stairs but we removed the Carol Baskin-ness about a year ago and have been living with splinterville since. They're so damaged from the previous owner's pets :/ The team is here this week and probably next week to refinish them! While we'd LOVE to redo them completely - widen and make them normal to step on - that is nowhere near in our budget, but making them not ugly and splintery is.
Check out more of these lovely stairs from the past year:
The team is here refinishing the stairs, bringing the incredible Douglas Fir wood back to life. They have been scraping and removing adhesive with this terrible smelling solvent - whatever works man - windows open during Second Winter in April here in Medford, temps around 32 at night, 45 during the day, rain & snow this week. Better than it being hot!
The landing at the top of the stairs was terrible as well - worn, in rough shape. J’s office floor, yes, it’s painted. Why. I do not know. The landing is the terrible rough wood.
